Surgical Procedures

Please read the following instructions carefully.

It is suggested that you place an ice pack over the treated area(s) every 20 minutes, to minimize swelling. You can also place ice cubes in your mouth if you prefer. Do not rinse your mouth excessively the first day. After 24 hours, you may rinse with warm salt water to aid in keeping the treated areas clean. This should be done 3 times daily. If heavy bleeeding persists, you may place a teabag on the treated area. The sutures placed will disolve with healing.

It is recommended that a soft food diet be followed for the first week and it is important to maintain adequate nourishment following surgery.

Please complete all prescibed medications. The lbuprofen is prescribed to minimize the discomfort and swelling. We recommend taking medications with plenty of water and food. If you should have a reaction to an antibiotic such as a rash or hives, discontinue usage and call during normal business hours.

* It is considered normal if swelling should occur 2-4 days after surgery.
