Crown Procedures

On the day of treatment it is suggested to wait for the numbness to wear off before you eat or drink hot liquids to avoid biting or burning your lip, tongue or cheek.

Should you experience any discomfort or pain, you may take Advil or Tylenol as directed.

Rinse with warm salt water at least two times daily to aid in keeping the area(s) clean and to promote healing. Do not floss in the treated area(s) until instructed to do so.

Do not eat sticky or chewy foods, until your permanent crown is inserted.

Should the temporary crown come off, try to place it back on the tooth, and call the office to have it recemented. If your schedule does not permit you to do so, a temporary solution would be to use Dentemp, which can be found at your local drug store. Do not use this material over implant crowns or bridges.

If you should experience any discomfort other than the above, or if your tooth is very sensitive to hot, you should call the office immediately.
